in #CASE you missed it… Lawyer’s pants catch on fire during arson trial in court.

Liar, Liar, pants on fire! We have all heard that and no doubt have said it as well when we were younger. However in this CASE it may seem that the popular children’s rhyme maybe reality.

Meet Miami lawyer Stephen Gutierrez. He was arguing an arson case in court on Wednesday when his pants caught on fire.

Stephen was representing a man who was charged with setting his car on fire and his defense was that it “spontaneously caught fire”

So as Stephen was about to address jurors in the courtroom that’s when smoke began wafting out his right pocket, witnesses told the Miami Herald.

Stephen bolted out of the courtroom with smoke and flames billowing out of pants pocket.

He returned to the courtroom a while later unharmed but with severally singed pants.

Seems he had an e-cig in his pocket and it “somehow” managed to randomly combust as well.

Stephen says it wasn’t some clever defense ploy that was staged gone awry….

I say sure Stephen, I think I saw this on an episode of Law and Order back in 2009. Nice try.
