Little Girl Buys Cop’s Dinner For A Touching Reason
Patrolman Joseph Quinn with the Jamesburg Police Department in New Jersey stopped for some dinner last week and someone surprised him by buying it for him. He found out that he was treated by eight-year-old Mikayla Raji and her mom, Mimi Jiminez-Raji, and he had a chance to talk to them before he left the restaurant.
Through what the Jamesburg PD calls “diligent police work,” they learned that Mikayla is the daughter of Thomas Raji, a Perth Amboy police officer killed by a drunk driver in August 2008. His little girl never even got to meet him, he was killed when her mom was only a few months pregnant with her. The Jamestown police wanted to do something for Mikayla, so they created a GoFundMe campaign to finance her education.
"Thank you for buying Ptl. Quinn's dinner. You have an OPEN invitation to stop by Headquarters whenever you want, and this time dinner is on us!,” the department posted on its Facebook page. “Your dad would be so proud of the person you are. If you ever need us for anything, you can guarantee we will be there for you."
