in #CASE you missed it… Ask Women Over 30
They say hindsight is 20/20 and we’ve all heard the old adage “I wish I only knew now what I didn’t know then..”
One savvy lady decided to seek some advice from the online community asking…
“What is something I can do now (I’m in my 30s) to make the life of my 40/50 year old self significantly better?”
The response and comments have been very wide ranging to say the least…
One wise woman in her 50’s posted:
What I would have told my 30-year-old self:
Get your mental health in order now. If you have anxiety, past trauma, things that bother you but you don’t think are priorities, get the help you need now and commit to it. You’re worth it.
Start traditions that you love and commit to them. Let go of the ones you don’t.
Regular breast exams.
Establish boundaries with difficult people in your life. If you’re mother/sister/SO is toxic, start protecting yourself now. If you don’t know how to do this, see my first suggestion.
Walk every day.
Don’t mother anyone but your children.
Fill one box for donating on a schedule you can manage. Donate it.
Choose clothes and decor and lifestyles that make you feel like your authentic self. There will be times you can’t do that, but you’ll have enough comfort to see you through.
Don’t measure your kids’ success by what they can produce, but rather by how they act.
Maintain your vehicle, and it will save you so much money in the long run.
What advice if any would you give to a 30 year old?
