The Seattle affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will be hosting an Ice Cream Social in August as part of their ongoing public mental health education efforts.
The meet and greet will take place at the Seattle Clubhouse (1265 S. Main Street, Suite 101, Rainier Center, Seattle, WA 98144) on August 23, 2018 at 4:00pm and ending around 6:30pm.
The Ice Cream Social is intended to be a way for supporters, members, and those interested in the work that NAMI Seattle does to mingle and meet the staff and board members of the organization.
There will also be an In Our Own Voice presentation given by someone living with a mental illness and involved with the organization.
It will be a great opportunity to understand how NAMI supports people living with mental illness, and their friends and family, and helps them to transform their lived experience into grassroots advocacy.
This social will also have complimentary ice cream, with limited vegan options available.
If you can’t make the social but still want to participate in a free local advocacy training, or to learn more about NAMI Seattle’s free community programs, please contact NAMI Seattle: 206-783-9264 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
