in #CASE you missed it… Bright Flash In The Sky “Likely” A Meteor
A bright flash in the sky took many in the Northeast by surprise early yesterday morning.
While 200 reports came in from Ohio, much of the Northeast got a glimpse of a fireball in the sky. It was even captured on Ohio’s traffic cams.
The American Meteor Society, a nonprofit group, said it got the Ohio calls and plenty from other states. Robert Lunsford, a society official, said the fireball was most likely a random meteor not associated with any known meteor shower.
Lunsford noted it takes an object only the size of a softball to create a flash as bright as the full moon and more analysis would be needed to determine its size.
