Nancy Pelosi Says Country In A Constitutional Crisis Because Of Trump

Earlier this week,Jerry Nadler, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, made that assertion that “there is a constitutional crisis in the U.S.” This, following a to hold Attorney General party-line vote by the committee William Barr in contempt.

In a Capitol briefing, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi agrees with Nadler and says subpoenas and contempt citations “are not empty gestures” The California Democrat insisted that such actions "have teeth" and added, “the administration has decided that they're not going to honor their oath of office."

She made the remarks as the House is primed to consider whether to hold Barr in contempt. So far, Barr has refused to honor a subpoena for Special Counsel Robert Mueller's unredacted final report.

  • So are we, really? To ask former FBI director James Comey, “No.”Speaking at a CNN Town Hall last night, Comey said he doesn’t believe there’s a “crisis,” but believes the system of checks and balances is now being "stress-tested."
