SAD! Most American Families Don't Sat Down To Dinner As A Family

As kids, most people probably sat down to dinner as a family, but as we get older that just doesn’t seem to happen anymore, and a new survey finds that the dinner table actually isn’t getting much use these days at all.

A new survey finds that only 48% of people say they sit at a dining room table to eat, despite 72% of us saying we grew up doing so. So, where is everyone eating? Well, 30% of people admit to eating on the couch, while 17% actually eat in the bedroom. When we eat has also changed with 36% of people saying they had a set dinner time when they were growing up, something only 22% of people have now.

While everyone seems to be so busy, and take out food is a convenience we all love, you'd think people are cooking less and less, but it seems a lot of people haven’t given up on cooking for themselves. In fact, 20% of people say they cook every night, while 50% cook four or more times a week. As for why people don’t cook, 45% of folks said they simply do not have the time.

And it seems knowing how to cook can be beneficial to your love lie. The poll finds that 86% of men and 89% of women find cooking to be an attractive skill in a date.
