Ohio Governor Says All Options To Stop Gun Violence Are On The Table

Interior Minister Seehofer Visits Federal Police Headquarters

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is focusing on gun control legislation in the wake of the Dayton shooting.

The governor, who campaigned last year partially on his defense of gun rights, says everything is on the table regarding gun laws, including expansion of background checks. But DeWine added it's not known if the deadly weekend mass shootings in Dayton and El Paso were background check problems.

He says so-called red-flag legislation, which he proposed this year, is constitutional and would make a difference. The bill would let police confiscate guns of anyone considered a threat to themselves or others.

DeWine Does stress that any laws need to be constitutional.
