#ExploreCharleston ( Part 1 )

in #CASE you missed it… #ExploreCharleston ( part 1 )

The wife and I had been busy working non stop. She as a property manager downtown Seattle overseeing 5 various locations. Me, well, you know doing what I do best running my mouth like I have legs for lips on air here in Seattle for iHeart Radio on 95.7 The Jet 10a /3p daily.

The constant grind, the commute, the colder darker dreary days and longer nights only compounded to our desperate need to take a break from the grey and fly away.

We love to travel and have been to many wonderful locations around the globe. From the shores of the remote island Aereoskobing in Denmark, the bright lights and glitz of the strip in Vegas, the romantic streets of Paris, the vast expanse of the Grand Canyon, to the charming gondolas in Venice, Italy.

Exploring and seeing the many unique and splendid places this world has to offer is truly a gift, and one you should so give yourself as well.

Our latest adventure had us off to a true jewel of a city, nestled off the Atlantic coast tucked in near a slew of waterways and rivers lies historic Charleston South Carolina.

A non stop flight from Seattle to Charleston was simple, easy, and comfortable as Alaska Airlines is now offering service daily from Sea-Tac.

The warm weather and soft breezes were the first things to great us as we walked out of the airport on the way to our ride that would take us to the Ansonborough Inn.

Upon on our arrival at the hotel we were welcomed to a complimentary wine and cheese happy hour in the lounge while our bags were taken up to our room.

The historic setting of the richly appointed Ansonborough Inn has a warm distinct feel that charms you the moment you walk in.

After indulging with a glass of wine ( or a few ) we made our way upstairs to explore our room that would be home for next few days. WOW!

It was then that we gave in to the growing need to eat and so we turned our attention to the multipul dining options that abound in Charleston. My wife being a vegan is limited to what she can have. However fortunately we found an AMAZING place called Basic Kitchen and they offer high quality vegan dishes that were simply out of this world. We have had some fine vegan food served here in Seattle but this was beyond BASIC this was a parade of flavor!

After another glass of wine we sat back and relished in the merriment of the moment before getting an Uber back. Being able to relax, find time to connect again as a couple and discover a historic, romantic, and wonderful city like Charleston, South Carolina was going to be EXACTLY what we needed!

What will the next day offer as we #ExploreCharleston, check back to find out.
