in #CASE you missed it… Companies Look At Social Media Before Hiring
There’s a good chance we all have something on our social media pages we regret posting, and according to a new survey, those embarrassing posts may come back to haunt you when you’re looking or a job.
According to the survey, the majority of companies say they look at an applicant’s social media before extending an offer. Specifically:
67% say they look at an applicant’s LinkedIn profile.
65% look at Facebook.
29% look at Twitter.
In addition,39% will evaluate a person’s professional blog or website.
On the other hand, companies are also looking at social media pages to recruit for new employees, with 71% saying they’ve hired a job candidate through social media.
And while you’d think LinkedIn would be the go-to for that, it’s actually not the most likely place to find applicants.
70% of managers say they recruit through Facebook, while 67% recruit through LinkedIn.
As for other sites, 26% use Twitter to recruit, while 20% use YouTube and 12% use Reddit.
