A Wisconsin mom went into labor expecting to have one baby girl and ended up delivering her surprise twin minutes later.Lyndsey Altice and her husband Wesley were completely shocked to have twins because her ultrasound only showed one baby. But just a few minutes after giving birth to their daughter Ada Maze, her twin,Billie June was born.
The mom had no idea she had two babies in her belly when she got into the birthing pool, but she was hit with a contraction after delivering the first baby and says she realized what was happening before the nurses told her. Lyndsey says she felt it but couldn’t get the words out during the contraction. She was in “pure shock” and was “completely overwhelmed” when baby girl number two arrived, and she says the whole room went crazy because none of the nurses or doctor knew she was having twins.
Both baby girls were born healthy last July, but mom and dad are just sharing it because they say they’re only now feeling settled enough and ready to open up about their unbelievable story. After only hearing one heartbeat on the monitor and seeing one baby in the ultrasound, the parents were totally blown away by having twins, but now they love it. And Lyndsey says her only regret was not being able to get a photo of dad’s face when he saw the second baby being born.
