A Colombian woman was pulled from the sea by fishermen after being adrift for eight hours. Angelica Gaitan was tended to by locals before being treated at a hospital. Amazingly, this is the best part of her story.
Gaitan gave an interview after the ordeal explaining how she got into the sea. It started with her tale of abuse at the hands of her partner, who kept getting released from jail within a day. She finally left her two daughters behind and ended up homeless for the last two years.
She got so depressed that she jumped into the water. Then the rescue happened. Now her two daughters are in touch with their mom and are working together to improve Gaitan’s life.
