Trust is something that’s very important in a marriage, but one woman had a hard time trusting her hubby and took a drastic measure because of it and she’s now paying the price.
A woman recently shared that her husband has a drinking problem, and while he promisd her that he’d only drink socially she didn’t believe him. She was convinced that he was secretly drinking at home but he always denied it when she confronted him so she decided to set up some hidden cameras at home, sharing, “Within 5 days from the installation, I caught him drinking vodka inside our bedroom closet.”
She then confronted her husband and as you can imagine it didn’t go well. She says that he called her a “psycho stalker, lunatic [expletive] and told me that I’m the one who makes him drink because I’m so controlling." When he refused to go to therapy it “was pretty much the nail in the coffin of our marriage.”
She insists that she only put up the cameras to help him but her friends say she took things too far. She then asked if she was really wrong for setting up the cameras, and she received mixed messages.
On person, who had a similar experience suggested it was a bad idea, noting, “It will do nothing for you and will only bring you more pain,” adding, “The only thing you can do is set your own boundaries. Please save yourself.”
Another added, “If you needed the proof so that you could show yourself it is OK to leave, then you do what you have to do,” noting, “If you use it to prove it to him, you can’t win that battle.”
