A Homeless Man Rescues Trio From Car Crash

A homeless man in Texas came to the rescue of three women after an accident. Their car wrecked and flipped upside down into Brays Bayou in Houston and Gabriel Moncada heard the crash and ran to help. He was sleeping at a nearby bus stop at the time and arrived before first responders.

Moncada called 911, then helped two of the women get out of the water, but the third, believed to be the driver, was still trapped inside. He was able to help her get out safely and used his previous lifeguard training to help stabilize the woman’s neck and spine after she complained of pain.

Officials say two of the victims are okay and the third was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Moncada says he recently lost housing, which put him in the right place to help. Looking on the bright side, he says, “I happened to get kicked out of my house at the right time.”
