The FDA Issues Warning Over Pet Food Contamination

The agency's warning letter Tuesday said it was aware of more than 130 Pet deaths and 220 Pet illnesses linked to eating brands of pet food manufactured by Midwestern.

They say the Indiana company's dry dog Food may have unsafe levels of aflatoxin, a toxin that can grow on corn and grains used in Pet Food that could cause Pets to fall ill or die. The updated warning is the result of a recent inspection of one of the company’s plants.

The company recalled several types of its dog Foods last December and it was expanded in January. Some of the brand names are: Sportmix, Earthborn Holistic, Pro Pac, Venture, and Meridian. You can see the listhere.
