Panama City's Hannah Frith was arrested this week for grand theft for allegedly defrauding her employer and coworkers out of paid leave and benefits. Here’s what she allegedly did: the 33-year-old lied about having a high risk pregnancy and providing fake doctor's notes about various illnesses so she could work from home on a limited basis.
Here’s the laundry list of stuff she got doctor’s notes for: a high-risk pregnancy, pregnancy with twins, a shunt placed in her brain, two emergency surgeries, and a cesarean.
She was out of work for so long that after she used up her time off, her coworkers donated some of their paid leave to her, and her employer even gave her more than 17-thousand dollars in extra benefits.
