How far are you willing to go to keep your family healthy? The pandemic has forced us to reevaluate our hygiene habits and many of us are taking extra precautions to try to prevent spreading germs. But when does it become too much? One mom is getting called out for going the extra mile to keep her little one safe at the playground … by disinfecting it.
A woman named Katelyn shared a video of her sister spraying down playground equipment at the park with disinfectant before letting her toddler play on it. “She really doesn’t play about my niece,” Katelyn comments on the video. And she’s right, this mama is taking her kid’s health seriously. In the clip, the little girl is seen waiting patiently while holding Aunt Katelyn’s hand as her mom finishes cleaning up and while she doesn’t seem to mind the delay, plenty of people are critical of the process.
The clip has gone viral with more than 2-million views and some viewers are critical of the mom for taking things to the extreme.
- Many suggest the mom should “just stay home” if she’s so worried about her kid picking up germs.
- “Immune systems are pretty amazing … chemicals ruin them,” one comments, adding, “Good luck.”
- “Those chemicals from the disinfectant are more harmful than the germs at the park,” another comments. “Why even go if you’re so protective about it.”
- And another writes, “Imagine thinking you could get rid of germs on an outside playground.”
- But there were a few supportive comments, with several people pointing out that the mother has a right to be cautious in COVID times.
