Robocalls Are Now Being Replaced By Robotexts

According to spam-call blocking app YouMail, robocalls fell roughly 30-percent between June and August. But in that same time frame, spam texts increased roughly eight percent. Data from another robocall filtering app RoboKiller, shows each person in the U.S. got roughly 28 spam texts in August.

The same app estimates robotexts will grow about 55-percent in 2021 compared to last year. The Federal Trade Commission says Americans were swindled out of 86-million dollars in 2020 because of spam texts.

You can report robotexts to the FCC by forwarding them to 7726.
