Officer Saves Unconscious Driver From Burning Car

A police officer in Tennessee, is being hailed as a hero for rescuing an unconscious driver from a burning vehicle earlier this week. When Officer David Baker of the Cookeville Police arrived at the crash scene he found a car engulfed in flames and grabbed his fire extinguisher from his patrol car. As he worked to put out the flames, EMS Paramedic Justin Remillard discovered the driver was still inside the vehicle.

They worked together to open the driver’s side door when the driver’s side front tire exploded. Putting his own safety aside, Officer Baker cut the driver’s seatbelt and pulled the unconscious victim from the vehicle.

Both Baker and Remillard are being praised for their heroism.
