2 Washington Destinations Named Among 'Best Places To Visit' In The U.S.

With summer in full swing, many people are busy planning vacations or quick getaways and figuring out the best way to spend time away from work or school. While some may explore destinations far from home, it turns out you don't have to go too far to see incredible sights as some of the best places to visit in the country are right here in Washington.

World Population Review compiled a list of the "best places to visit" around the U.S., listing out reasons why the destinations are such a big draw and worth seeing whenever you happen to be nearby. According to the site, the top spots to visit in Washington are Pike Place Market in Seattle, which offers visitors a chance to sample local cuisine and visit small shops as well as Mount Rainier National Park, which got a shout-out for being a great place to explore for nature lovers.

"When visiting Washington, Pike Place Market in Seattle is a great place for small shops, comfy cafes, artwork, farm-fresh food, and fresh fish stalls. Pike Place Market is home to the country's oldest farmers' market. Nature lovers can head over to Mount Rainier National park, home to the 14,000-foot volcano, Mount Rainier. The park covers 238 square miles and has 260 miles of hiking trails for all levels."
