More than 40% of Americans say they lie about an event's start time so their tardy friends aren't late.
Researchers surveyed 3,000 adults in the US and found "early is on time," with more than half admitting they are "obsessed" with timekeeping.
They say anything past 13-minutes is considered "late," and 56% plan ahead to make sure they are never running behind schedule.
60% say they are always early, and 39% believing it's socially unacceptable to be late.
