More than 12,000 Bridgestone and Firestone tires are being recalled due to possible damage during the manufacturing process.
The tires may have sustained 'cuts and tears' during sorting - which could cause them to suddenly lose air pressure and increase the risk of a crash.
The recall applies to certain sizes and lots of the following tires:
- Firestone Destination LE2, size P265/65R17 110S (DOT date codes 2522 through 2622)
- Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S, size 235/55R20 102V (DOT date codes 2422 through 2722)
- Bridgestone Turanza EL440, size 235/50R18 97V (DOT date codes 2521 through 2621)
Tires should be brought to a dealer to be inspected and, if necessary, replaced free of charge.
Affected owners will be notified by mail starting next month.
